Grifone Team was founded in 1958 and in 2003 it boasted 45 years of motorsport activities. In all these years, it has been participating to any kind of motorsport competitions: circuit, hill, autocross and rallies which gave the Team a great contribution to become very famous all over the world.
In 1977 the Society “H.F. GRIFONE S.r.l.” was born in order to manage the Team’s official programmes with FIAT and the contracts with important Sponsors as Esso Italiana.
In 1992, the factory H.F. ENGINEERING S.n.c. was founded in order to have more technical and logistical autonomy; from then on, this new Company has been growing up more and more to become a modern and complete race department. In 1994 it began to co-operate with the TOYOTA Manufacturer “TTE”. 
From the beginning of 1998 a new building was added to the original workshop: here H.F. GRIFONE and H.F. ENGINEERING have settled their head-office. 
At the end of 2000, Grifone reached a new important agreement with the Manufacturer PEUGEOT SPORT winner of the World Rally Championships 2000, 2001 and 2003. This new co-operation became necessary after the withdrawal of the official Team TOYOTA from Rally activity and this saw the foundation of the new Company “STEP2 S.r.l.” born to support Toyota programmes. In fact starting from 2001 the Toyota Corolla WRC are independently managed and serviced by this new factory. 
The factory is situated, in a very strategic position thanks to the motorway which connects Savignone to important cities as Genoa (20 km.), Milan (115 km.), Tourin (135 km.)
